Sea To Summit Pursuit Plus self-inflating mat 2025

Made for comfort-seeking outdoors lovers, The Pursuit Plus is a 7.5cm thick, self-inflating sleeping mat for maximum comfort in the wilderness. Available in the lightweight Contour shape or complete Rectangular versions, both use Horizontal Delta Coring construction to create foam-supported air channels for maximum comfort at a minimum weight. The XPEL Multi-Function Valve allows the mat to be rolled up easily, and a side-loading stuff sack streamlines the packing process. Pursuit Plus is built with bluesign APPROVED, RCS-recycled, solution-dyed fabric to create a mat with a high level of comfort and a low environmental impact. Pursuit Plus is part of the 1% for the Planet commitment.

Bluesign APPROVED
Bluesign is a system run by an independent, Swiss-based third-party group that monitors every step in a supply chain to ensure the use of the most benign materials. This approval states that the product’s production creates the fewest emissions and least pollution, holds high standards for humane conditions for workers and material safety standards for consumers.

RCS Recycled Fabric
Fabrics or materials used in these products are certified as recycled according to the Recycled Claim Standard. RCS is an international, voluntary standard that uses the ISO definition for 'recycled'. It sets criteria for third-party certification of recycled input and ensures responsibility throughout the supply chain. Sea to Summit considers environmental impact in its choice of materials, and recycled materials are chosen only when they meet appropriate performance and durability levels.

Horizontal Delta Coring
This Sea to Summit innovation removes 40% of the foam in a self-inflating mat, leaving Delta-shaped 'cores'. This saves weight and reduces packed volume while creating foam-supported, air-filled channels that significantly enhance your comfort. Lighter, more packable, more comfortable: a win-win-win.

XPEL Valve
The Sea to Summit XPEL Valve was the first valve developed specifically for self-inflating sleeping mats. It integrates a one-way inflate port, a large deflate port and a fine-tune button into a single, low-profile unit. The genius of the XPEL valve is that to deflate the sleeping mat, the valve is flipped over, allowing air to escape but not return into the mat. This turns the one-way inflate valve into a one-way deflate valve - preventing the mat from drawing itself full of air as it is rolled up. The XPEL valve fits the nozzle of an Airstream pump (sold separately) if you want to 'top up' your self-inflating mat which you can also do manually.

ASTM F3340 R-Value Testing
To ensure that you will be warm when you sleep (especially when the ground is colder), it is essential to know how well your sleeping mat resists heat loss into the ground. This resistance is known as an R-Value. A laboratory-tested R-Value is the only way to measure resistance to heat loss. Sea to Summit has always provided independent lab-tested R-Values for its sleeping mats. Since January 2020 we have used the industry standard ASTM F3340 test to provide R-Values for the mats. There are several other factors which will determine how well a sleeping mat will insulate, but the standardized ASTM R-Value test means you can compare resistance to heat loss in sleeping mats across different brands.
