Technologies
Ultra-Dry Down 850+ Loft
The highest performance down used in all Sea to Summit sleeping bags. The 850+ fill power means that one ounce (30 g) of down will expand by more than 850 cubic inches after compression. A higher filling power means that less down can be used to achieve the same temperature, which is important for performance sleeping bags. The loft and down quality/composition are independently tested by the International Down and Feather Laboratory (IDFL) - a copy of the certification is supplied with every Sea to Summit sleeping bag. The down is responsibly sourced, RDS certified and ecologically treated
Quiltlock System
The QuiltLock system uses press studs placed at the shoulder and foot ends of Sea to Summit sleeping bags, along with the down foot box and down straps, to attach a down duvet to the sleeping bag. This adds thermal performance and versatility to your sleeping system: your integrated duvet now works for ultralight summer adventures and turns your three-season sleeping bag into a four-season sleeping system.
C0 DWR
Most of our products have already switched to PFC-free C0 water-repellent finishes. Our goal is to use 100 per cent PFC-free C0 water-repellent finishes by 2025.
Responsible Down Standards (RDS)
The entire down used in our sleeping bags and quilts is independently certified according to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). The RDS standard certifies down according to animal welfare requirements and guarantees its monitoring, from source to finished product. Purchasing RDS certified products demonstrates the demand for better animal welfare practices in the down and feather down supply chain. Sea to Summit is RDS certified.
